Green for Sustainability Initiative Trust (GSI Trust) is a youth-centric, youth-serving non-profit social investment organization created in 2024 to promote local entrepreneurship, climate-friendly business development, sustainable cities and communities, and participatory local economic development. We promote renewable energy access, green ecosystems, natural resources governance and action against climate change.
GSI Trust leverages on the power of research, advocacy, education, training and sustainable innovation to promote green development, community trade and social investment for enhanced livelihoods, poverty reduction, decent job creation, food security and nutrition, sustainable local socio-economic development.
Operating at arms-length from the grassroots communities, GSI Trust works closely with grassroots partners which include local Community Based Organizations (CBOs), Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs), community enterprises, local start-ups, farmer organizations, groups and cooperatives, International Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and local government structures.
GSI Trust operates as an independent non-governmental community development organization in Zimbabwe. Our mandate is to facilitate, promote, encourage and advocate for fair community trade and effective social investments in community-based initiatives that have a bearing on the sustainable development agenda.

GSI Trust was founded facilitates, support and strengthens the creation of sustainable on- and off-farm businesses which are self-sustained through available local natural resources within the rural and peri-urban communities.
We also promote the development of the green industry whilst supporting smallholder farmers in agricultural and forest land, growers, innovators and entrepreneurs so that they can fulfill their vision of local economic growth, profitability and realize the power of social investment in transforming their communities.
